Job Purpose/Background:
We are looking for a VP to join the Global Fundamental Equity team as a Product Strategist, representing products to both retail and institutional clients. You will be responsible both for acting as a link between investment teams and all client groups, and for providing insight on the Fundamental Equities product platform.
The Role
- Drive business growth across Global Fundamental Equity strategies
- Act as a credible representative of, and proxy for the Global portfolio managers, allowing them to focus on the day-to-day running of their funds
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume overall responsibility and oversight for marketing materials including marketing decks, commentaries, portfolio reviews, market updates and other timely marketing materials
- Partner with internal relationship managers (retail & institutional) to engage clients, prospects, consultants and intermediaries on the team's product range
- Contribute to new business opportunities, development of marketing strategies, and respond to requests for proposal (RFPs)
- Meet with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance, as well as provide updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the team's market outlook
- Take a proactive approach to solving clients' investment-related, business and operational issues by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (marketing, sales, compliance, legal etc).
- Serve as a key link to facilitate effective interactions between portfolio managers and clients/ consultants
The Requirements
This role is best suited to someone who has proven experience of working with retail and institutional clients and who has a keen interest in markets. The candidate will also need strong communication skills, technological proficiency, and excellent numerical skills.
Knowledge/Experience and Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level and relevant financial markets experience essential
- Experience in a client service/business development role preferred, within the investment management industry
- Passion for, and knowledge of equity markets
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills using proprietary technology
Competencies:
- Ability to understand and articulate fund management strategies clearly and with confidence
- Strong presentation as well as oral and written communications skills
- Strong research and writing skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes
- Excellent attention to detail, with proven organisational skills and ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
