SMEs account for most businesses worldwide and are critical contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide.Despite this, more than three quarters (77%) of SME businesses last year were unable to secure the traditional bank financing they desperately needed to grow and thrive. This has created a $5 trillion funding gap for SMEs globally.
That’s where Liberis steps in! To best help small businesses, Liberis has built the leading global embedded finance platform. Through this, Liberis provides partners with the technology and financial solutions necessary to offer personalised and accessible funding to their small business customers.
To date with 20 global strategic partners and direct reach to more than 1 million small businesses, Liberis has provided $1 bn of funding in over 50,000 transactions, enabling more than 100,000 jobs to be created and saved. Who are we?
We are the Enterprise Sales team. We exist to turbocharge Liberis’s ambitious expansion plans by signing up new partnerships. In the last two years, we’ve signed global partners like Klarna, Barclays and Vagaro. Right now, there are 5 of us, however we have big plans to add more members to the team in the coming months.
The existing team are based across London and Stockholm and cover all phases of the sales cycle, from identifying the partners we’d love to work with, all the way through to coordinating a successful launch. We are now looking for an Enterprise Sales Director to help us sign the next wave of potential Liberis partners in the UK.
Who are you?
You are someone that is excited by the prospect of a challenge, appreciate autonomy and the space to generate your own ideas and are passionate about finance that serves to support small businesses, not just turn a profit.
You will develop and deliver best in class business development and partnership engagement globally that maximises value for our partners, their small business customers and delivers profits to Liberis.
You will have experience in similar SaaS sales role and have developed strategic partnerships through detailed hands-on management and expert relationship development. You should be able to drive C-suite conversations in a compelling manner and have significant experience of identifying and signing technology centred partnerships across the payments and lending markets.
The ideal candidate will
- Build and deepen executive relationships with partners. Influence long-term strategic direction and serve as a business partner.
- Negotiate and manage entire sales-cycles, often presenting to executives in corporate and global customers.
- Lead regional business development strategy and developing business growth opportunities, working collaboratively with Liberis Tech and Product teams.
- Actively understand each partners finical products, technology footprint, strategic growth plans and business drivers, technology strategy and landscape.
- Drive business development, forecast accurately and achieve strategic goals by leading customers through the entire business cycle.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for building a sustainable pipeline of partnerships for partners in the UK.
- Support Liberis’ rapid growth and expansion by securing and onboarding new partners.
- Explore new opportunities; keeping up-to-date with market trends and customer expectations, evaluating new targets, identifying and defining new product feasibility / strategies.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Liberis, especially in the Product, Operations, Finance, Marketing teams, including with Enterprise Sales and Partnerships colleagues in other geographies.
We think you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant demonstrable experience in financial (payment / lending), technology industry or management consulting.
- Experience with large complex commercial and legal negotiations, working with procurement, legal, and business teams.
- Experience leveraging C-level relationships.
- Knowledge of our industry.
- A strong track record in SaaS sales
- A passionate can-do attitude, you will be a team player, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to lead, coach and influence by example.
- Able to be trusted as an expert in the ecosystem of fintech and offer thought leadership and critical thinking to complement execution of the Liberis platform vision.
- Ability to drive forward initiatives with internal and external stakeholders especially in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Commercially astute and able to create business plans and financial models and support wider business goals.
- A learning mindset, collaborative approach, and willingness to work with a wide range of teams.
- Exceptional project management and relationship skills and the ability to get to the finish line with complex projects.
