Transformation Consulting Manager
Role can be based in any of our main hubs such as London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff , Milton Keynes, Glasgow, or Edinburgh .

So, what’s the role: A client delivery and practice building role. The successful candidate will be engaged in client delivery, driving a positive impact on client-based projects, as well as growing the business. While you will be based in one of our Grant Thornton offices, travel will be required for some client-based projects, that said, hybrid working is the norm. We work across various industries; our clients are varied, and therefore location will vary.
A look into the role
As a Transformation Consulting Manager within our Consulting Practice , you will:
Work on client delivery projects, typically in a programme or project management type role , developing you transformation exp e rtise across a range of project types and industries
Work as part of a team in helping clients shape their transformation plans in identifying the opportunity for change, the value drivers that will make it successful, and defining into a roadmap for change
Develop and lead delivery-based infrastructure and collateral including programme plans, risk, issues, actions assumption and dependencies (RAIDAA). Defining critical paths based on a clear understanding of the inter-dependencies between workstreams and projects etc.
Support the Head o f Business Transformatio n and Partner and wider Business Consulting leadership team in achievement of our strategy and wider ambitions and plans for growth – supporting business development through working on bids, being involved in webinar s, artic les and events, deepening your relationship building a nd showcas ing your and GT ‘s expert ise
Build your brand. Internal and external networking, in progressing business development and targeting activity
Own and take full accountability for ensuring compliance with our quality and risk management processes. Always operate with the highest degrees of integrity, remain mindful of potential risks and issues, and proactively flag or address these
Understand and take an active role in the financials of the team including feeding into the preparation of budgets and forecasts, achieving annual revenue targets, and wider performance indicators, including commercial KPIs and working capital management
Support the development of the transformation practice, which could include a focus on methods and tools, internal marketing, D&I, helping to embed you on the team and play your role in continuous improvement of the practice
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as a Transformation Consulting Mana ger , th e minimum criteria you’ll need is extensive experience of :
W orking in a consulting environment, deliver ing transformation proj ects . Particularly experienced in Programme or Project Management on a range of transformations, such as operating model, cost reduction or technology related change .
Working knowledge and experience across multiple sectors and industries, not limited to one area e.g. Consumer, Retail, Industrial, Automotive.
Experience in the development and delivery o f implementation plans, business cases, and operatin g and governance structures for large transformation and change programme s
Joining the team, you will need to be resilient and empathetic as well as respectful, and inclusive of others and their voices and opinions. It would be great if you had some of the following skills experiences, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way .
A ssisting with the design and development of a Programme or PMO from the ground up
Develop ing project plans across work streams and management of critical paths and dependencies in a project
Assist ing in the d evelopment and building quantitative and q ualitative business cases.
T ranslat ing and present ing data, information, and insights in a compelling way. In communicating ideas and recommendations that can be easily understood
Business and data analysis skillset in extracting and capturing requirements or processes and converting in to constructs, analysis, and value driven insights
C ommunication, organisational problem solving and analytical skills; confidence in, and capable of managing communications and engagement at all levels from C-Suite and project sponsorship, through to fellow team members and stakeholders
Facilitat ing workshops and meetings, disseminating information gathered into clear outputs
Project / Programme management qualification e.g. Prince2, MoP , and understanding and experience of other project management methodologies ( e.g. Agile)
