This is an exciting opportunity to join the Claims team based at our Milton Keynes and Birmingham offices as a Customer Claims Handler. We will put you through a comprehensive training induction programme and support your ongoing development, focussing on your career aspirations with us. We are looking for talent that can support and shape our business and generate initiatives that lead us forward in a rapidly changing technological space, to outperform our competitors and provide world class customer service.
The purpose of this role is to support our customers at their time of need whilst providing high level customer service. Day to day you would be responsible for investigating, negotiating and settling claims whilst ensuring you provide a high standard of customer service. Other responsibilities will include:
Handling a portfolio of claims proactively within the agreed authority level to deliver a high quality claims service
Ensuring claims are correctly reserved and are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines
Paying valid claims ensuring the proper application of policy limits and excesses
Handling allocated internal tasks, such as: inactivity and diaries, ensuring that all tasks are dealt with within applicable time limits progressing the claim to a prompt settlement.
Liaising with Underwriters where necessary and ensuring the applications of appropriate clauses, endorsements and conditions etc
Working hours: 37.5 hours Monday-Friday 9am-5.00pm. You'll be expected to work in the office just 2 days a week the remaining 3 working from home.
Skill & Experience
• Previous Insurance, customer service or telephony experience is desirable - but full technical training will be given
• You will have a 'can do' attitude, flexible approach, passion about doing a good job, the ability to work to daily targets and the ability to demonstrate that you are a team player
• Good organisational skills in order to prioritise a variety of work within your portfolio alongside incoming telephone calls and LIVE CHAT
• Be digitally competent and able to embrace new upcoming technology
• Excellent communication skills required to keep customers updated and offer repair solutions within our network
