Looking for a job where you can make a positive difference? Could you see yourself supporting a young man with complex learning disabilities? No experience needed.
We love what we do and are recognised as an award winning charity for our passion and dedication. Come and join us and you'll soon see why
We are currently recruiting Support Worker to work with Frank*. Frank in his 20s and lives in his own specially adapted home in Wigan, near his family. He has very individual needs, autism and behaviours that maybe deemed as challenging. Frank requires a lot of emotional reassurance and support.
Frank enjoys anything to do with water play and outings in his car. You'll need to be patient and resilient, with loads of common sense. Perhaps you have an interest in psychology or want to specialise in autistic spectrum conditions. Either would be a good fit for this job.
We'll provide you with full training and day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service. Because of the young man's individual needs, all staff must complete Positive Behaviour Management training. You will play a key part in the process of helping him develop and grow, in conjunction with his family, the staff team and specialist advisors.
You'll work shifts which include days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Shift patterns are: 8am-3pm, 3pm-10pm and10pm-8am.
This work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly fulfilling.
It is essential for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be required to drive service vehicles; and to comply with our insurance you must be over 21 years of age and you must have held your licence for over 12 months.
