We are looking for a proactive individual to join our Food Retail central team as a Space Planner, based at our Head Office in Newbridge, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
This role is an ideal opportunity for those with a retail background who are looking to develop new skills in a challenging and fast paced environment.
The Role
The Space Planner will work alongside the Space Planning Manager to support in the production and maintenance of food store layouts. Using CAD, you will produce accurate and detailed store space layouts, in line with agreed principles and guidelines. This may involve occasionally visiting our stores to survey and record the space and confirm the information we have is correct and fit for purpose. You will also develop and maintain our CAD equipment library, as we introduce additional fixtures and equipment to the estate.
Our Ideal Candidate
While previous experience working with CAD would be an advantage, more important is the right attitude and an eye for detail. Problem solving and driving continuous improvement will be vital in supporting the team. We are looking for candidates that are conscientious and reliable, with the drive to become a key player in our Retail team.
Key Skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, with an excellent understanding of Excel
- Ability to carry out site surveys and travel when required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well as part of the Retail team, as well as cross functionally with other teams
- Strong organisational skills with a can-do attitude and excellent attention to detail
- Enjoy working to tight deadlines, in a fast moving environment
Whilst the position is based at our offices in Hillwood House, some travel may be required as part of the role; therefore a full driving licence is essential.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This role will be office based, with an element of hybrid working available if required.
