Hays Construction and Property are excited to work alongside a highly successful construction and fit out contractor in their recruitment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor. They have managed to build up an impressive portfolio of projects having contributed to the successful construction of many landmark buildings throughout the UK. Founded over 75 years ago, my client has established an enviable reputation for their consistent delivery of high quality construction services to a wide spectrum of sectors. Due to an increasing project portfolio and expansion both locally and in the UK , my client now has a need to expand their commercial team with the addition of a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Your New Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager you will ensure all surveying functions are efficiently carried out on allocated projects and that all available profit is extracted. You will be in involved in projects ranging up to £10m within the leisure, office and retail sectors throughout the UK and Ireland . Due to the location of projects you will be required to travel to the UK approximately 2 times a month.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, and will have at least 6 years of experience. You will need to have proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within construction and/or fit-out and a strong understanding of construction processes. You will be proficient in Microsoft packages including outlook, word and excel. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills, be a team player and have the ability to work under pressure. They are looking for someone who is dedicated, well-organised and has a hands on approach to projects.
