Utilise your tax and financial control experience to develop your career in our Direct Tax Reporting team. Joining as a Senior Manager, this role will give you responsibility for managing ongoing Tax Authority engagement across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). You will report to a Director in the Direct Tax Reporting Team and closely collaborate with Senior Leadership across our Finance Management Group.

What role will you play?

As a member of this professional and supportive team your specific focus will be to coordinate ongoing tax enquiries and steer relationships with Tax Authorities across EMEA, whilst working closely with the Regional Heads of Tax, Tax Reporting, and Indirect Taxes.

If you have a curious mindset, great communication and collaboration skills and an eye for detail then this is the right role for you. You will prepare key regular deliverables to HMRC in relation to the UK corporate tax compliance and the Macquarie Group

In addition, there will be opportunities to liaise with other teams in Finance and the Business both in region and across the organisation to assist in responding to queries from Revenue authorities. You will also be responsible for the preparation of the Senior Accounting Officer sign-off for the Macquarie UK Group and guiding the SAO and other senior stakeholders through this process.

What you will offer:

You will bring knowledge of, and a genuine interest in tax advisory and reporting with experience of working in the Tax Authority Engagement space. You will be a highly motivated and organised individual with strong interpersonal skills. You will work well under pressure and demonstrate ambition coupled with a high level of energy and commitment. Your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • Accounting or equivalent tax qualifications
  • 6 years + PQ experience within an in-house tax function or within an accountancy firm.
  • Corporate Tax experience for large companies & consolidated groups, which includes tax accounting and compliance.
  • Experience working with HMRC and other Tax Authorities.
  • Exposure to European tax accounting and compliance issues (i.e., non-UK experience) is preferred.
  • A strong Financial and Risk control mindset
