Shotton works are seeking a team player who can hit the ground running supporting their planning team. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and scheduling orders to the highest standard. Only applicants with full Right to work in the UK can be considered.
Role: Scheduler
Location: Tata Steel, Shotton Works, Deeside Industrial Estate, Shotton, CH5 2NH
100% office based for 3 months with the view to implement X2 days home working thereafter
Rate: 28,548 per annum. Hourly this is 15.04ph
Contract length: 6 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent position
Shift Patterns: Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:00 with a 30 minute, unpaid break (36.5 hours per week)
The role requires weekend working, 2 weeks out of 5. This is X4 hours on Sat and X4 hours on Sun. This incurs a 6% shift allowance and a weekday off.
Start: ASAP (1-2 weeks), pending the result of a successful medical assessment, which does include a drug and alcohol test
Responsibilities:
Planning and scheduling orders and materials to ensure complete and timely delivery to customers
Preparing and submitting status and performance reports
Collaborating with the Supply Chain Manager to set up service level agreements
Developing KPIs to measure supplier performance
Planning raw materials to meet production demand and cover manufacturing requirements
Working on SAP systems and MS excel daily
Adhering to the highest standards of detail at all times
Resolving any issues effectively to minimise service gaps or downtime
Serving as a stakeholder liaison between suppliers, teams and management
Essential requirements:
Previous experience within planning or logistics role (2+ years)
Strong IT literacy, especially with MS Excel
Driving Licence and/or access to own vehicle or cycle (due to nature of the works)
Ability to manage, organise, update data via database applications
Good verbal and written communication skill
Outstanding attention to detail, especially with numerical data
Ability to work on own initiative but also within a team as a collaborator
Eagerness to learn new processes and adapt quickly as part of a small, flexible team
Adhering to the highest levels of Health and Safety at all times
