VC Evidensia UK
Registered Veterinary Nurse or Student Nurse
The Neighbourhood Vet, East Dulwich
Salary up to £35,000 DOE plus Relocation Allowance up to £3,000

Do you like being a nurse and are looking for a position where you can be your absolute best and have a good day every day? Do you want to work somewhere where you are valued, listened to and the manager’s care? Are you looking for continued support and development opportunities?

Find belonging by joining our amazing, supportive team

The Neighbourhood Vet is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our lovely bunch. You will have a mixed day of nursing patients in hospital, assisting with surgical and diagnostic procedures, nurse consults and the opportunity to assist with schedule 3 procedures.

You can expect support and continued education/on-the-job training, mentoring and lots of on-going (and often free!) CPD and the added perks like your birthday off. We are a close team who work to a high standard and we have Cert holders in medicine (x 4), cardiology (x2), surgery (x 2 and 1 studying), ECC (x 1), ophthalmology (1 studying) and acupuncture.

Rota patterns that work for you

This is a full or part time position. Typically, the full-time position is 40 hours working 37 hours over 4 days plus a weekend rota. If you are working a Sunday, you get a day off in lieu the following Monday.

However, we understand that you have priorities outside of work therefore we try and tailor your working pattern to suit you. For example, we create set rotas so you can make plans.

Welcome to the Neighbourhood

We started as a single vet practice in East Dulwich 10 years ago and have now grown to have 3 practices, located in East Dulwich, Penge, and Crofton Park, with 20 Vets (ranging from 20+ years qualified to new grads), 10 RVNs, 10 Veterinary care assistants/students and 22 reception/ administration staff.

We have lovely facilities and buildings, and all the usual good toys including Ultrasound, X-ray, Dental x-ray, Ultrasonic dental machine, Multiparameter, ECG, fully equipped lab, separate dog, and cat wards.

But that’s not why you should work here – although a lot of people talk about ‘stuff’ being the most important thing, we know it’s not, it is our people that are! And we have grown our practice by focussing on looking after each other, then pets, then clients.

What can you expect from us?

Well firstly, you can expect an excellent standard of care. For example, for every anaesthetic, we use the best drugs (only sevoflurane gas), and everything has an IV placed and gets fluids. We use a range of anaesthetic monitors, we manually chart, we supervise, we train, we record incidents, and we review our practice and process in a supportive way. We provide the safest care for our patients which hopefully means the least stress for everyone.

You can also expect a friendly, welcoming, and open culture from top to bottom. We want humble, kind teammates, who enjoy their work, and can have a laugh! We are not perfect, and we want to continue to all learn, grow and be better and be supportive and compassionate at all times. We also hold regular voluntary social events such as curry nights, pub nights, charity bake sales and a Christmas party.
