The Role:
The Paper Buyer will be responsible for managing the supply chain for paper supplies at the Manchester site. This role involves overseeing future stock levels, negotiating deals to minimise costs, and ensuring the efficient procurement of paper supplies. The ideal candidate will have strong people and negotiation skills and be proficient in Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the supply chain for paper supplies to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to meet production requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and deals with suppliers to minimize costs while ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
  • Utilise Excel to analyse data, track inventory levels, and forecast future supply needs.
  • Provide regular reports on stock levels, supply chain efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Work closely with the production and logistics teams to understand and meet their paper supply needs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply chain strategies and objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management or procurement, preferably in the packaging or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost-effective deals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and stakeholder management.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
