OPERATIONS MANAGER OPPORTUNITY (RETAIL) - WATFORD!
  • Contract: 12-month FTC (Maternity Cover)

  • Salary: up to £40,000 per annum

We are seeking an Operations Manager (ideally for an immediate start) to manage the core purchasing and B2B customer service operations within our reputable global brands company, which forms part of a wider group of business that promote recognisable international brands. You will have a strong purchasing, supply chain, and logistics background, with experience managing relationships with suppliers form the Far East. You will also be self-motivated, possess advanced IT (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and be able to independently manage your own workload as a collaborative team player.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage the administrative purchasing of apparel for the company, primarily from the Far East.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve quality issues, implement quality improvement initiatives, and conduct regular inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics and manage product style codes, costings, sales and purchase orders on the ERP system.
  • Prepare margin sheets to assist with price negotiations with factories and customers.
  • Serve as the customer liaison correspondent throughout the purchasing and sales administration process.
  • Access and maintain the customer database as appropriate.
  • Compile a line list with the design team for the upcoming season.
  • Work with the product development team to manage the production process and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage FOB prices and selling prices by customer in various currencies.
  • Coordinate logistics management of samples between supplier, brand director, and customers.
  • Manage warehouse allocation and delivery.
  • Submit POE to factories and track price negotiation.
  • Support the Operations team with additional duties as needed.
Required Skills:
  • Strong experience in purchasing, supply chain operations management and customer service.
  • Retail or Footwear sector background desirable
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage own workload and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Highly competent IT skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP systems
