We're really pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a qualified Solicitor to join us on a part-time basis, working approximately 30 hours a week. You'll join our dedicated in-house legal team as Legal Counsel - Litigation, reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel. This role is based at our Head Office in Watford, with a requirement to work in the office at least twice a week.

You will be responsible for managing all legal disputes and claims, from pre-action through to resolution, managing third parties involved in claims, and providing commercial and pragmatic legal advice to support and mitigate business risks.

You will line manage one paralegal, supporting their development in knowledge and drafting skills.

Utilising your excellent communication skills, you will liaise with and advise all levels of the business on legal disputes and claims. You will proactively work with stakeholders to resolve disputes, manage claims, and implement strategies to reduce their occurrence.

The primary focus will be managing disputes and claims, including customer installation disputes, product disputes, and supplier disputes. You will also assist with general commercial matters, including contract reviews.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of dispute resolution experience, some general commercial law experience, and preferably some in-house retail experience. You should have a strong desire to work in-house, a commitment to excellence, and experience handling disputes independently, including drafting documents and meeting court deadlines. Remaining calm under pressure and maintaining professionalism in challenging situations are essential. You should be a proactive self-starter capable of operating at all levels in a fast-paced environment.
