Here at the ''The Federation of Independent Retailers'', more commonly known as "The NFRN", we serve a membership of over 11,000 independent retailers representing 15,000 shops across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We are a very forward thinking, membership led organisation with 100 years of history. In our new head office in Durham we have the facilities to match our ambition and the people to make our ambitions a reality.
So where and how will you fit in?
Our new Head of Marketing and Membership will head up a team of 4 Senior Managers who cover Membership, Communications and Political Engagement respectively plus a Marketing Manager. Each of these Managers has a team, Membership being the largest. You will need to lead and motivate this team to achieve some challenging objectives the NFRN has set for itself in 2021. You and the team will be designing and delivering marketing programmes both above and below the line to enable us to reach those objectives.
What does a day of Head of Marketing & Membership look like?
Well, there are never two days the same but in general you will be; both leading and managing the team's output. Collaborating with the COO, The President, committees and the wider teams to conceptualise and execute multi channel campaigns. Leading the development of these programmes and analysing the market to identify consumer trends to steer future campaigns. You may be preparing insightful and powerful presentations and proposals, or working with other departments to ensure we always have a unified approach. Monitor data, insight and evaluation of work done to ensure we are going in the right direction. This and a whole lot more
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a leader, motivator and experienced marketing professional with a proven track record in designing and delivering class leading campaigns. Someone who is commercially astute, innovative and makes great decisions. You will be someone who has great communication skills in all mediums, who can plan and prioritise and loves solving problems. Ideally you would have experience in FMCG, membership led organisations or franchised operations.
