About the Team

Fleek is a diverse set of funky individuals with the single mission of helping sustainability and promoting circular fashion while building a beautiful product experience. Our 30+ people team consists of individuals in 7+ countries with experiences from Google, YC, Uber, Accenture, Parthenon, Cambridge, Oxford, and UC Berkeley.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly intellectual, analytical, and strategic Head of Finance to build and scale Fleek's financial strategy and function, that will support our hyper-growth, build the best payment experience for our retailers and suppliers, and maintain a strong bottom-line and financial stability.

Finance Strategy

• Yearly Budgeting and Financial Strategy and Forecasting with an eye on cost-reduction and revenue improvement
• Cash Flow Management: Optimising Operating Leverage, Gross Margin and Contribution Margin
• Maintaining a real-time and dynamic view of financial health
• Optimize Interest-rate strategy for deploying investment capital to Money Market Funds or other financial instruments

Finance Operations

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payables and receivables, payroll, and tax compliance
• Hire internal team to maintain financial operations
• Liaison with product and engineering to automate internal processes

Payments Infrastructure: Internal and External

• Company operational restructure for optimised global payments
• Implementing and negotiating payment rails for cross-border global payments
• Debt / BNPL strategy for Trade Financing
  • Unlock BNPL for EU and US markets
  • Longer term build debt strategy for trade credit

External stakeholder management

• Liaison with accountants and tax managers
• Liaison with lawyers
• Liaison with third party providers: Debt Managers, Banks, BNPL providers, Payment providers

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience in Series A+ startups or marketplaces within the finance function
• Either a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or background in Investment Banking, Private Equity or similar
• Demonstrated ability to run a finance function / 8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis
• Track record of intellectual curiosity and impact beyond the finance function in previous roles
• People leadership experience; growing and leading a high-performing team.
