This leadership role will have overall responsibility for developing and executing our commercial strategy, and act as a thought leader, translating the needs of customers to shape the overall strategic direction of the business.
As Head of Business Development UK, Amazon Shipping, you will manage a Sales and Account Management team to meet your business objectives, partner with operations and product management to deliver insights and shape feature/capability development for existing and new external customers, as well as build relationships and trust with key internal customers to turn extraordinary ideas into outstanding results for Amazon.
Key responsibilities: · Amazon Shipping UK commercial (P&L) profitability and volume growth; Own and manage inputs that drive the P&L, focusing on demand initiatives that improve our cost structure · Build and implement strategies that drive top of the sales funnel, improve sales productivity to exceed the plan; Inspect all aspects of the Sales and Commitment funnel, develop strategies to acquire and launch profitable shippers and drive existing shipper commitment · Set, align and audit goals across sales and account management (input and output metrics, process improvements) · Seek out commercial opportunities with external partners as well as internal teams to unlock broader volume initiatives · Shape and influence the short and long-term demand plan outlook, based on current trends and projected headwinds/tailwinds · Build plans to develop the required skills, and executing on the talent needs in terms of hiring, performance management and employee development.
Hire, develop and lead a growing organization of sales managers, account managers, and regional leaders · Present results in regular Business Review meetings to key internal stakeholders and executives · Partner with the global product management team and operations team to influence the long-term roadmap to grow Amazon Shipping UK Basic Qualifications · Bachelor's Degree · Fluency in English including written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex concepts simply; able to influence.
· Extensive experience leading high performing sales teams · Experience managing key financial drivers of a business and/or direct experience managing a P&L Preferred Qualifications · MBA or similar advanced degree.
Studies in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field desired.
· Experience in retail, e-commerce, and/or logistics · Experience solving analytical problems, either in professional experience (data analysis) or education; Ability to use analytical skills to make sound business decisions · Ability to drive successful projects with a wide range of people at all decision-making levels and role functions (legal, product, and internal business owners) · Passion for constructively advocating on behalf of the customer Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
