About Engie
Storengy UK is a subsidiary of ENGIE, we developed and now operate the Stublach Natural Gas Storage site in Cheshire, the largest onshore in the UK.
We are actively participating in the energy transition and supporting the UK government strategy to reach net zero by 2050. We have set our own carbon neutral target of 2025. A strategy to develop biomethane production in the UK and an ambition to create and operate hydrogen storage further support these targets.
About the role
ENGIE are recruiting for a Head of Business Development based in one of our UK offices (Exeter/London/Chester). This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday.On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
Engie in UK has a unique position in energy storage, green energy generation, and an integrated model in place with direct access to downstream customers. Its business strategy includes an ambitious development plan for the coming years in Biomethane, having recently acquired Ixora Energy (160GWh/annum of Gas Production) with an ambition to grow to 1TWh by 2030 through Greenfield Development and further acquisitions.
In this challenging business context, the Head of BD has the responsibility to support this development through:
Establishing a pipeline of development projects and M&A targets, such that we meet our UK ambition for 1 TWh of annual Biomethane by 2030.
Contribute to and own deliver of company’s development strategy.
Lead internal governance process and presentation to relevant investment committees.
Be face of RGE in UK Biogas market, networking and building relationships with developers, regulators & other key stakeholders
Lead Business Development team
Pipeline Management and reporting
Responsible of BD budget and contribute to Medium Term Plan
Key Requirements
Successful experience in Energy Business Development roles
Proven experience in a senior Business Development or equivalent role
Degree educated
A strong strategic mindset as well as business acumen / Asset Development projects
Knowledge of energy business and markets highly appreciated;
Solid and proven experience in working in complex organizations, in corporation and complex business environments;
Excellent ability to deal with change management, transformation and complexity
Strong leadership and organizational skills / Excellent communication and people skills
