Role Specifications
- Contract Type: This is a contractual role that will involve occasional travel to mainland Europe.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and optimise the current GCP and GraphQL infrastructure for improved cost-effectiveness and resource efficiency.
- Develop robust strategies for containerisation, including scaling and resource management.
- Provide high-level consultancy on infrastructure optimisation to senior stakeholders.
- Drive the ongoing design and deployment of core GCP and GraphQL services, focusing on container-based solutions.
- Formulate advanced caching strategies to enhance system performance.
- Design supportive environments for effective performance testing.
- Implement and manage strategies for better cost allocation and transparency.
- Innovate and automate CI/CD pipelines, incorporating advanced testing and infrastructure management.
- Oversee end-to-end infrastructure and ensure observability with a focus on performance improvement and cost reduction.
Candidate Profile
- Essential Skills:
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code.
- Strong experience with safe deployment practices and CI/CD.
- Comprehensive knowledge of designing cloud-based and cloud-native systems on GCP.
- Proven ability to develop infrastructure that optimises both cost and performance.
- Experience in enhancing observability and developer experiences.
- Strong capability in DevOps and SRE methodologies.
Additional Qualifications
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale cloud infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Extensive experience within the commerce and retail sectors is highly desirable.
- Established authority in GCP Cloud Infrastructure with the ability to engage with and guide client discussions on best practices and risk mitigation.
- Hands-on proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform and Terragrunt.
- Familiar with managing and deploying GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, etc.
- Experience with Kubernetes and understanding of different cloud implementations.
- Skilled in managing DevOps processes and tools, including GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
- Knowledge of automated testing and observability tools.
