The Estate has a team of maintenance, gardening, forestry and joinery employees that maintain the core estate and manage the beautiful surroundings which are on the edge of the River Fal. The Estate is also a landlord with a substantial portfolio of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.Through its day to day running, the Estate produces tea (the only UK grown blend), honey and jam, which are sold by our trading team; delivers experiences including Garden and Tea Tasting Tours; and rents holiday accommodation. The garden is home to some species that are globally rare, together with the first tea grown in the UK for commercial production.Duties include:- Lawncare and mowing.- Strimming, hedge trimming, pruning and chainsaw work.- Cultivation and weeding.- Pest and weed control, including spraying.- Path and drive maintenance and construction.- Watering and landscape construction.You will need:- Previous gardening experience within a team-based role.- Experience of using pedestrian lawnmowers e.g. cylinder and rotary, strimming and brush cutting.- To be conscientious and have attention to detail; and hardworking.- Ability to work alone and as part of a team.- Good communication skills; professional attitude, polite and good levels of personal presentation.- Full UK driving licence and own transport as we are in a rural location, with no access to public transport.Closing date: Monday 20 May 2024To be considered as a Gardener, please apply via the button shown.
