Client Details

Our client is a leading retailer and distributor in their market and are looking for an established External Communication's Specialist to join the marketing team


The External Communication's Specialist will be responsible for the following:

  • Planning, editing and writing content for a variety of communications mediums including websites, blogs, emails and the customer content hub
  • Responsibility for updating and maintaining corporate communication materials like corporate presentation, external video and business bios online
  • Ownership of the customer content hub and corporate website - ensuring content is always up to date and as compelling as it can be
  • Working collaboratively with the PR and Social Media agency partners to inform content plans and manage business approvals
  • Knowing and understanding the brand guidelines inside out; always acting as a brand guardian and ensuring correct usage in all external materials
  • Ensuring communications messages are consistent across all external channels - working collaboratively with other business functions (e.g. Marketing and People) to make sure content is engaging and error less every time
  • Maximising the sponsorship and events activity, working collaboratively with the events team to support with event materials, external content and customer interaction
  • Supporting the People team with the employer brand programme of activity, highlighting our business as a great place to work in all appropriate arenas
  • Building relationships with the Digital and Retail Marketing teams to help create synergy between our B2B and B2C strategies
  • Continually developing exciting new content ideas that are in line with brand guidelines and always delivered in a timely manner


The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Great creative skills - with the ability to create compelling content independently and brief design partners as required
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with experience in creating communications plans and time lines
  • The ability to work on multiple projects at one time, and under pressure and to deadline
  • Equal measures of self-motivation and the ability to be a valued team player
  • Experience working with creative agencies an advantage
