HW People are partnering with a Yorkshire based Retailer to appoint a Director of Operations to join their senior leadership team and take ownership of end-to-end operations and logistics across the business.

Our client operates both bricks and mortar stores and a high growth e-commerce division, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in root cause analysis, process improvement, and team management within a 3PL environment. As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for driving growth, identifying inefficiencies, implementing solutions, and leading initiatives to enhance cost efficiencies and productivity across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies within the 3PL processes and implement effective solutions to drive improvements and cost efficiencies.

• Manage stock control both centrally and across the Retail estate to optimise inventory levels and minimise stockouts.

• Coordinate, manage, and monitor the day-to-day operations of various departments within the organisation.

• Research and develop innovative techniques and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and safety.

• Develop and coach a high performing operations team, driving operational KPIs and fostering continuous improvement.

• Report on financial performance, utilising data to improve profitability and control costs.

• Implement processes, systems, and policies aligned with organisational goals to maximise output and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Collect, analyse, and report productivity data to identify areas for improvement.

• Enhance auditing and stocktake processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Take ownership for evaluating and crafting future operational strategies, with a focus on optimising 3PL services.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in operations management, preferably within a 3PL environment.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

• In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

c£100,000 with some flex + LTIP

Yorkshire based hybrid - 3 days onsite
