This role is designed to lead the development of commerce data & technology partnerships as part of our global agency network Mindshare . This is a pivotal role on the team, designed to grow our capabilities in commerce & retail media .

Overview :

The Mindshare Director, Commerce Data & Tech Partnerships Lead role will work closely with the GroupM Nexus Commerce team . The GroupM Nexus team is a highly skilled performance marketers who drive measurable business growth for iconic brands across GroupM agencies. Our Commerce capability is comprised of Strategy, Activation, Creative, and Data & Technology, working as an interconnected unit and living on the cutting edge of modern marketing . Through proprietary tools, partnerships, processes and training, GroupM Commerce delivers industry leading Commerce solutions to our clients with global scale, local nuance, and effectiveness.

The Director , Commerce Data & Tech Partnerships Lead will utilize their experience to establish and nurture relationships with external retail, media, data, and technology partners to identify new opportunities and develop cutting-edge commerce solutions that align with our clients’ business objectives. You will work closely with our commerce team to i dentify, assess, and unlock strategic partner opportunities, and realise existing partnerships advantages in day-to-day client delivery .

This role will as part of a cross-functional team to support the development of our commerce offering, enhancing existing & developing new agency solutions. The role will require an understanding of different data types that can be used to fuel insights into consumer behaviours /trends as well as the performance of media and marketing investment. A deep understanding of audience, sales, promotion, media, and marketing data is required to ensure the business can derive actionable insights from the commerce warehouse is required. The successful candidate should have knowledge of advanced analytics techniques such as MMM/MROI, media sufficiency and consumer experience design to help complement media investment strategies. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to create partnerships with 3 rd party vendors (including MSA and contract management) to drive detailed data agreements and transactions to feed the commerce warehouse.

The role will require an understanding of the commerce data & technology landscape and a solid understanding of how retail media fits within the wider media ecosystem . An entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and problem-solving is necessary to be successful in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop & lead relationships with external retail, media, data & tech partners that can provide value to and enhance our agency solutions for clients
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives and challenges, and translate these into partnership opportunities and technology solution
  • Engage with internal and external leaders across WPP agencies, data & technology providers , and retailers to develop go-to-market solutions .
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of first-to-market solutions .
  • Negotiate partnership agreements, contracts, and terms that are favo r able to our clients
  • Stay informed on latest industry trends/innovation s, competitor activities and emerging technologies within the commerce and data space to inform partnership strategies
  • D rive new initiatives that contribute to partnership & product enhancements in line with client needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across markets to conceptualize, design, and develop data and technology solutions that address client needs, utilizing partner resources and expertise.
  • Substantial experience in business development, partnerships, or technology solutions, preferably in the commerce, media or marketing industry.
  • Experience working with key commerce data, technology and/or media platforms, suc h as Amazon, Criteo, Google, Meta, Nielsen, Liveramp, Infosum , Dunnhumby etc.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on market trends.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • U nderstanding of how retail media fits within the wider media ecosystem .
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal teams and external partners .
  • A self-starter attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment .
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to clients and internal stakeholders .
