We have an exciting new opportunity available for an experienced Demand Planner to join a successful beauty & gift brand. This company sell their products to a range of popular retailers such as TK Maxx, Boots, and Superdrug. This is a newly created role, so plenty of room to get stuck in and make it your own!

The main duties will involve ensuring stock levels are optimised, whilst maximising sales opportunities and profitability for the businesses. You will have experience workign within a wholesale business within a demand planning or merchandising capacity. You will have handled a large SKU count, ideally working across licensed and non-licensed ranges - though this is not essential.

You will be analytical, proactive and a confident decision maker, using both your experience and data too. You must have worked closely with a range of retailers from high volume, high street, and eCommerce through to independents. Most importantly, you'll have a passion for product and retail, and be driven to grow with an expanding company.

Duties as Demand Planner will include:

  • Ownership of stock planning and forecasts for all products, ranges and retailers
  • Looking at the forecasting process, continually striving to improve processes and efficiencies by analysing performance and accuracy
  • Working closely with the major retailers ensuring high volume stock predictions are accurate
  • Managing stock discontinuations in order to replace stock with all-year-round and seasonal ranges
  • Working closely with Sales, Product and Shipping teams managing inventory and stock flow, paying close attention to core sellers, best sellers, and slow-moving stock
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure lead times are communicated accurately to ensure optimum stock flow through the business
  • Gatekeeper and owner of all customer stock requirements, working with the sales & product team on priority stock, shortages and large volume orders to support seasonal launches
  • Monitoring, reporting and managing of discontinued lines, advising on processes and ideas to minimise costs
  • Generating reports and keeping all relevant stakeholders updated on all demand planning performance
  • Involvement with margin analysis
  • Involvement with the management of stock costing sheets

The ideal Demand Planner will have the following qualities:

  • A minimum of 3+ years experience in a similar role with a supplier / wholesale background
  • Experience working with large volumes of consider goods
  • Global vendor experience
  • Highly analytical, accurate and commercial whilst demonstrating a passion for product and consumer goods
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal
  • First class excel skills
  • Deadline driven and a confident decision maker and problem solver
  • A skilled multi-tasker, with excellent organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced role
  • Flexible and approachable personality with a positive attitude and enjoys working in a team
  • Proactive, with the ability to foresee problems and overcome these confidently and effectively
