The Role

As part of the Willis Limited Compliance team, you will work closely with the Affinity area to support the following activities within WTW’s compliance in:

  • Creating, developing, and delivering the Compliance Plan for the Affinity business.
  • Identifying and assessing compliance and regulatory risks in all WTW segments and functions with a focus on Affinity
  • Identifying and leading the response to regulatory developments.
  • Providing oversight and challenge of business management’s assessment of governance and regulatory risk.
  • Providing guidance and advice on business conduct and ethical standards, including the Code of Conduct, driving appropriate ‘tone from the top’.
  • Investigating suspected, alleged, or actual breaches of regulatory requirements or WTW Compliance policies and procedures and ensure that any established breach is appropriately resolved.
  • Providing technical regulatory advice and support key stakeholders to understand their responsibilities and obligations under WTW policies and regulatory requirements with a particular focus on the development of new products
  • Escalating material issues, incidents and breaches to Compliance leadership, business stakeholders and other functions (e.g., Legal and Risk) as appropriate.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders in the business.

The Requirements

  • Strong regulatory and corporate governance knowledge/understanding required.
  • Experience of supporting a business with new proposition/growth
  • Significant retail (FCA definition) / consumer based experience and understanding of IDD requirements in relation to distribution and manufacturing.
  • Experience of working on new product development would be an advantage
  • Detailed understanding and experience of implementing the FCA’s Consumer Duty requirements
  • Specific experience of the following parts of the FCA handbook: DISP, ICOBS, SYSC and PROD
  • Previous undertaking of a Certified Persons role would be an advantage
  • Experience of Client Money would also be an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels to promote an effective and business focused compliance culture.
  • Must be committed to maintaining a robust compliance culture and high ethical standards.
  • Commercial awareness – a commercial and pragmatic approach to managing compliance risks in the context of a fast developing growing business.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining excellent understanding of regulatory developments.
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Previous experience of providing regulatory advice in relation to technology developments.
