Class 1 / Category C+E - HGV Driver

Delivering excellent customer service, this skilled driving role within the distribution chain involves night working on a five-week rolling rota basis across six nights per week to include weekends and bank holidays. Dependent upon the destination, general start times are 10pm to 3am; and you will be responsible for the safe, timely and accurate delivery of customer orders to wholesale and bottled milk buyers. This is a physical role which requires responsibility for daily vehicle checks, health and safety within the workplace as well as safely carrying out manual handling tasks such as the loading and unloading of products whilst lone working.

HGV Driver Duties

Key duties of this role include:

• Delivery of dairy and other products to Wholesale & Semi-Retail customers
• Drive and operate at all times according to legislative requirements, considering local environments and communities so as not to cause unnecessary noise or traffic jams. Maintain excellent personal hygiene standards in line with company and customer expectations
• Unloading and loading at customer sites - to include pallets and roll cages
• Unloading of products at customer sites using Forklift Trucks
• Picking of orders and learning the products
• Complete a conscientious check of the assigned vehicle at the start and end of shift

IMPORTANT - This physically active role involves working nights, and requires manual handling. A FLT License is also desirable.

HGV Driver Working Hours

Full Time, 48 hours per week. Five shifts Monday - Sunday on a rota basis. In order to comply with the Working Time Directive, this will be averaged out over a period of 26 weeks.

Driving Bonus

Cotteswold Dairy run a Driving Bonus Scheme. Drivers can earn up to £20 per week, accrued over a 13 week period and paid quarterly providing all relevent criteria has been met.
