The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for developing strategic plans, and providing effective leadership to support their passionate and committed employees to deliver on strategic objectives. The role will involve building pro-active strategic partnerships to support our credit union's vision, raise the profile of the sector in Wales and lead the team through a planned programme of digital transformation. The role is wide ranging combination of strategic, leadership and operational duties, perfect for an ethical entrepreneur with proven strategic leadership skills, able to lead by example and support our small team to both develop personally and collectively deliver on strategic and Business Plan objectives. Duties of the role include: - To work closely with the Board to identify gaps in skills and knowledge and to recruit, induct and support new Board members. - To exercise overall financial control and to provide monthly management accounts detailing performance against budget and highlighting significant deviations, their impact, recovery actions and anticipated outcomes. - To oversee the safe management and maintenance of the company's branches, including service contract oversight. - To maintain and build partnerships with public, private, voluntary and community agencies, and groups to secure future development. - To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of company's performance against targets as specified in the Strategic Business Plan and annual operational plans. - To seek funding opportunities and apply for grant funding and service contract applications to support CVCU's social and business objectives. - To lead on the development, achievement, monitoring and performance evaluation of the Annual Operational Plans and targets by which CVCU will accomplish its 3-year Strategic Business Plan. The Successful Applicant The successful candidate will be a strong leader with: - Proven experience of successful business development - Proven experience of working with a Board or equivalent - Proven experience of financial management - Proven organisation and people management experience - Capacity and ability to sustain a demanding executive role - Sound understanding of financial management, including budget setting and monitoring, business planning, managing accounts; generating efficiencies; identifying new methods of attracting income into the organisation - Sound knowledge and understanding of the financial services sector and financial services governance - Sound understanding of ICT business requirements.
