Sight for Wight (Isle of Wight Society for the Blind) is seeking to appoint a new CEO to lead and manage our charity. We aim to provide help and support for visually impaired people living on the island. The charity is currently based at Millbrooke House in Carisbrooke and we have 6 staff, over 100 volunteers and we operate both the main charity and our retail arm, Dress for Less. These are challenging times for charities so we are looking for an exceptional leader who can help us steer our way through to a new way forward.
The CEO will:
* work closely with the board to develop a strategy and mission to take us forward to support the visually impaired on the IOW
* lead and manage the organisation including financial management
* manage staff and volunteers
* develop fundraising and income generation
* develop the charity's impact and profile
* oversee the charity's retail arm.
We are looking for a leader educated to degree level with high levels of financial literacy and commercial acumen who has experience as a senior manager in the charity sector. You should be innovative and be keen to use new technologies as well as being an effective and inspirational staff manager. You should also have a strong empathy for people with visual impairment and be committed to service delivery on the Isle of Wight.
