Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working with this well-established Engineering company, who are expanding due to their impressive recent growth.
Having had a busy 2 years, they are looking for a Buyer to join their busy team. This is a really important role and you will be responsible for ensuring materials, goods, consumables and services are purchased within required timescales, specifications and costs utilising our company MRP system.
For this Buyer role, you will ideally have Manufacturing or Engineering experience and ideally you will have purchasing experience of electronics components.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of ordering electronic components from PCBAs up to console assembly level
- Experience working in a manufacturing purchasing environment
- Experience with an MRP/ERP system
- Intermediate computer skills Microsoft Business Central / Excel / Outlook
- A general understanding of manufacturing processes
- You will be calm under pressure with a good sense of humour!
- Have ability to be pro-active and use initiative
- Have a keen attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Have good inter-personal skills to work effectively and communicate at all levels
- Have the ability to take ownership of projects and deliver to completion, within agreed timescale
- Demonstrate a professional approach and have high personal standards

- Shares information appropriately and involves stakeholders in solving problems.
Key duties include:
- Timely processing of operational business demand
- All business system work as required
- Negotiation with suppliers to ensure best deal for the organisation is always secured
- Proactively source new suppliers of products and services to ensure best value and prices
- New purchasing solution ideas (i.e. vending, consignment)
- Undertake tender exercises with key suppliers as required
- Ensure a continuous cost reduction programme is in place
- Continuous review and management of the approved supplier data base
- Monthly reporting as required
- Ensure all processes & activities are conducted according to the Management Systems
- Adhering and working to ISO standards for quality
- Other duties that may be deemed necessary by Management
