Here at the The Federation of Independent Retailers, more commonly known as "The NFRN", we serve a membership of over 11,000 independent retailers representing 15,000 shops across the UK. So where and how will you fit in?
Our Business Development team are constantly working on new projects to deliver great value to our partner organisations and our members. They are developing strong collaborative trading relationships and are always scanning the market to spot new business opportunities. Of course they also help to drive and maximise income from these collaborative relationships.
What does a day of a Business Development Team member look like?
Well, there are never two days the same but in general you could be involved in; planning or implementing project which can be cross functional and can require careful coordination. Meeting with business partners and suppliers to develop with them long term, strong and mutually beneficial relationships; analysing the market and current trends to see where future opportunities may present themselves; making sure supplier agreements are honoured and we collect revenue due in a timely manner; managing a Business Development Executive, mentoring and coaching that person to achieve their potential and deliver on objectives.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who is known for working with and engaging customers, negotiating great outcomes, delivering on promises made and providing customer care end to end. Someone who can develop excellent relations with partner and supplier organisations and ensure a long term profitable relationship. Someone who can present a great business case is commercially astute and can see the "devil in the detail". They need to be a great communicator, who can translate that into writing and deliver great partner presentations.
