As an Associate Project Professional at BMT, you'll dive into a diverse project environment, contributing to successful project outcomes in contractual service-based relationships for our clients. Your role is crucial in ensuring BMT continues to deliver insight, innovation, and results across various domains. Here's what you'll be handling:

  • Administration and control of multiple projects or work packages supporting a Project or Programme Manager.
  • Leading the delivery of simple projects or work packages as a Project Manager.
  • Supporting project-related activities throughout the bid and project delivery lifecycles, with a focus on managing commercial and financial aspects.
  • Contributing to the development of BMT's Project Management Function and best practices.
  • Advising and guiding other staff in project delivery tasks.

Our projects are widespread across the UK, with current emphasis on locations like Bath, Weymouth, Fareham, Plymouth, Southampton, and London. However, flexibility is key, allowing us to operate from various locations, including home-working or client sites, and even overseas. Travel and subsistence are provided as per BMT's policy.

We can work on a full or part time basis according to the roles that the Associate Project Professional fulfils, although the nature of the Project Manager role often drives regular engagement with project teams on a daily basis. About you

We're seeking individuals who share our enthusiasm for successfully delivering projects and want to contribute to building a robust project management community within BMT's global operations. Ideally, you bring familiarity with delivering or supporting projects in an engineering service environment. Your ability to recognize, understand, and undertake project management duties across different approaches is essential. We welcome diverse backgrounds and experiences.

You should be able to:

  • Undertake project delivery responsibilities equivalent to SFIA8 Responsibilities Level 2 (Assist).
  • Demonstrate competency in project management skills at or equivalent to SFIA8 Portfolio, Programme, and Project Support (PROF) Skill Level 3.

You'll embark on a personal career journey, aiming to achieve or already holding one or more Project Management-related qualifications. While specific qualifications are desirable, we're committed to supporting your development. Self-motivation, a proactive approach to continual professional development, and a degree- or diploma-level qualification in a project management or engineering-related discipline are valued.

Due to the nature of the work, this position will require full UK Security Clearance and you must have resided in the UK for more than 5 years. No applications will be considered if you are not in a position to either attain or transfer the security clearance.
