Our client’s stores are changing. They’re changing because customers expectations and needs are changing fast. As an Area Manager of circa 20 stores across parts of the South West you’ll be leading your stores to harness the excitement of that change and position our client as a service provider not just for the here and now, but for the future.

We’re not looking for an Area Manager who will simply ‘manage’. This is a role that’s all about transformation – of our client’s stores and of the way consumers interact with them. You will effectively be the ambassador for change. You’ll know how to drive it in collaboration with your store managers. How to engineer it. How to overcome resistance to it. And how to measure its success.

About you:

You’re already an Area Manager or Regional Manager. You’ll thrive under that pressure. You’ll relish the chance to apply your ideas to driving the stores under your control to new heights. You’ll make a positive difference. And you’ll feel comfortable engaging at senior level discussions that will stem from this role. You will have a retail background in fashion, technology or a brand that puts customer engagement at the forefront of its offer.

In addition to the above, key responsibilities for the Area Manager role include:

  • Leading the transformation strategy within your stores
  • Delivering financial performance and strategy across your area
  • Developing colleagues: Our client expects you to make a success of this role and move upwards, which means you’ll need to be focused on developing the team to succeed you
  • Liaising with senior leaders: You’ll have lots of engagement from the heads of the business, so you’ll need to have the confidence to network at that level

Role requirements:

You are/have:

  • Proven ability in a multi-site management role
  • A laser-like commercial focus with the ability to make sound decisions based on data analysis
  • An inspirational communicator and a great coach
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude – advocating and championing change
  • A strong, hands-on work ethic, willing to get involved to support your managers and teams
  • The ability to build excellent relationships with teams and customers
  • An example of professionalism who sets the tone across your stores

This Area Manager role has a salary of 65,000 – 70,000 plus company car, excellent performance-related bonuses and a great benefits package.
